The latest on when it should be clear

It's been a rough few days for commuters on 20/59 between Tuscaloosa and Birmingham.

However, for most people who are familiar with this stretch of highway, this is nothing unusual.

We have received numerous reports from motorists that it is still quite a mess this afternoon.

The latest delays were caused by an accident at 05:02 today.

We spoke to ALEA Corporal Reginal King earlier and he confirmed that the area should be cleared by 3:00 p.m. at the latest.

King expressed his hope that the situation would return to normal long before then, but wanted to remain cautious about announcing a timetable.
