BOSTON – Officers from the Boston Police Department’s East Boston Drug Control Unit arrested two people Tuesday evening for their involvement in drug-related activities following complaints from the public.
On August 27, at approximately 6:15 p.m., officers from District A-7 at 178 Border Street noticed suspicious behavior by a man later identified as 36-year-old Edwin Vasquez of Chelsea.
Vasquez was seen making brief phone calls and looking around the street before getting into the back seat of a car that had pulled up.
After a short drive, Vasquez got out of the vehicle and police stopped him, suspecting a drug deal. They found crack in his pocket.
He was informed that he would be summoned to court for possession of Class B substances.
Further surveillance led to a traffic stop at 375 Border Street, where officers arrested 40-year-old Danielle Brabent of Saugus and Vasquez.
During a search, Vasquez was found to have eighteen bags of crack cocaine and $734.
Three bags of crack cocaine, 41 different prescription drugs and drug packaging material were found in Brabent's possession.
Both were arrested and charged with supplying Class B drugs, possession with intent to supply Class B drugs and conspiracy to violate the Controlled Drugs Act.
Brabent also faces a charge of possession of Class E alcohol.
They are expected to be arraigned in East Boston District Court.
