Mike Tyson once unknowingly let a serial killer into his gym before he was sentenced to death

Mike Tyson once unknowingly let a serial killer into his gym before he was sentenced to death.

At the height of his powers, Tyson was a media phenomenon due to his ruthless and brutal performances in the boxing ring.

Every reporter wanted a piece of “Iron” Mike when he ruled the heavyweight division.

But one time he was tricked by a serial killer and let him through his door weeks before his arrest.

Convicted murderer Dale Hausner gained access to the boxer's gym after killing eight people and injuring 19 in Phoenix, Arizona.

A few weeks before his arrest, Hausner interviewed Tyson as part of his work as a sports journalist, which led to him being questioned by police a few days after the conversation.

Hausner was eventually sentenced to life imprisonment before the death sentence was carried out.

Speaking to Jimmy Kimmel, the former heavyweight champion recalled his conversation with a police officer during his meeting with Hausner.

“I came outside and talked to the guy [policeman]. He showed me the picture of me and the guy because it was on his website,” he said.

“He said, 'Do you know this gentleman?' And I said, 'Well, sir, I don't know, I was promoting a fight. If I said anything to him, if I offended him, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to do that.'

“And he said, 'No, he liked you, Mr. Tyson. He didn't like the 28 people he shot and the eight he killed.'”

Tyson's brief encounter with Hausner, who committed heinous crimes, sums up his crazy life.
