Wilkes-Barre police arrest man on warrant and find suspected narcotics


WILKES BARRE, Pennsylvania. – According to Wilkes-Barre City Police, a routine patrol resulted in the arrest of a man on an active warrant and in possession of suspected narcotics.

The incident occurred on August 25, 2024 at approximately 2:05 a.m., when officers observed Matthew Milne, 35, of Edwardsville, PA, loitering in the area of ​​140 North Wilkes-Barre Boulevard. While conducting an investigation, officers discovered that Milne had a Pennsylvania State Police warrant for his arrest.

Milne was taken into custody and during a search conducted during his arrest, officers discovered suspected controlled substances on him. He was then transported to the Luzerne County Correctional Facility (LCCF) for further processing.

The City of Wilkes-Barre Police Department continues to remind the public that individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. The investigation is ongoing.

  • Delaware State Police Investigate Armed Robbery at Valero Gas Station in Wilmington

    WILMINGTON, Delaware. – Delaware State Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred early this morning at a Valero gas station in the Wilmington area.

    The incident occurred on August 27, 2024 at approximately 12:11 a.m. when police officers were dispatched to the Valero gas station located at 1327 McKennans Church Road on a report of a robbery. According to preliminary investigation, a white male suspect entered the gas station, approached an employee with a firearm and demanded money from the register. The employee complied with the suspect's demands and the suspect fled the scene on foot in a southerly direction, taking an undisclosed amount of cash.

    The suspect is described as a white male who was wearing dark clothing and a mask at the time of the robbery. Surveillance video and images have not yet been released.

    The Delaware State Police Troop 2 Robbery Unit is leading the investigation. Detectives are asking anyone with information about this case to contact Detective D. Patterson at (302) 365-8404.   • Newark Police ask public for help in identifying burglary suspects

    NEWARK, NJ – Newark Police are asking the public for help in identifying three suspects involved in a residential burglary that occurred on August 8, 2024.

    According to Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé, the suspects – a woman and two men – broke into a home in the 400 block of Mt. Prospect Avenue around 11:45 a.m. Surveillance camera footage showed one of the male suspects drilling a hole in the front door lock to gain entry. Inside the home, the suspects stole $1,000 in cash and several passports.

    The Newark Police Department has released images of the suspects from surveillance footage and is urging anyone with information about their identities to come forward.
