The FBI is offering a reward of “up to $2,000” for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the man who robbed the Bank of America in Lawrence last month.

Lawrence Police were called to a reported robbery at the bank at 900 Ohio Street around 9:20 a.m. on July 2.

“The suspect is described as an African-American male with an athletic build, approximately 6'4″ to 6'5″ tall and weighing 190 pounds,” the FBI said in a Thursday press release. “The suspect is wearing a black zip-up hoodie and dark colored undershirt, black pants with a white emblem on the left thigh, multi-colored shoes, light blue 'HyFlex' gloves, large black square sunglasses, and a multi-colored (black, red, yellow) face mask.”

The police said at the time that they could not “reliably confirm” whether a weapon was involved in the robbery.

“The suspect entered the bank with a black bag and approached a teller who verbally demanded cash,” the FBI press release states. “The suspect fled the bank on foot in a southerly direction, carrying an undisclosed amount of money.”

Investigators are asking anyone with information to call the FBI Kansas City office at 816-512-8200 or Crime Stoppers of Lawrence and Douglas County at 785-843-TIPS (8477) or file a report at tips.fbi.gov.

Laura McCabe, a spokeswoman for the LPD, said the department is grateful for the FBI's continued assistance in finding the person responsible for this crime and hopes their efforts will lead to new leads in the case.
