Before the Bundesliga kicks off, DFB player Jule Brand gives another interview. Her answers are unexpected and honest.

Wolfsburg – The Women's Bundesliga is picking up speed again: The reigning German champions, FC Bayern, will play in Potsdam on Friday (30 August), while VfL Wolfsburg, their strongest competitor, only started the new season with a home game on Monday (2 September).

“Bottomless questions” by DFB star Jule Brand

The first meeting between the two great rivals took place in the Supercup. There, Jule Brand was unable to prevent the Wolves' defeat. In the summer, she won bronze at the Olympics with the DFB team. In the coming season, she plans to get back on track with VfL. Before the start of the season, however, the 21-year-olds found time for a slightly different interview.

As part of a challenge format for the streaming provider DAZN, the DFB star presented himself to presenter Jeannie-Naomi Wagner. If the presenter wins one of the many challenges, she is allowed to ask Brand “a bottomless question”, which happens often.

DFB star tried Tinder

One of these questions was: “What dating app do you use or have you used before?” Brand admitted that she has already had experience with such an app. “I used Tinder two years ago,” the 21-year-old admitted openly, but quickly added, “but I never wrote to anyone. Just for fun. Unfortunately, I didn't find anything.”

Little is publicly known about Brand's relationship status, which explains the presenter's next question: “Has a football player ever written to you?” Brand confirmed this, but clarified: “It wasn't really in the dating direction. When we were knocked out of the World Cup, for example. That was very nice.”

DFB star also reports on unpleasant offers

Brand admitted that not all messages she receives are so innocuous. When asked about the strangest message she has ever received, she replied, “I'm sure you get one.” Wagner agreed, giving an example: “Can I buy your socks?” Brand seems to have had that request before, too, and agreed.

The striker believes that the private lives and appearance of female football stars are discussed more than those of their male colleagues. Her explanation for this? “We are more open when it comes to social media. We show more and don't just post football stuff,” says Brand. As soon as the Bundesliga season starts again and is all about football, she will certainly have nothing against it. (kk)
