Information on radio and TV on election night
On election night, there will be an ARD Extra on the state elections from 5:40 p.m. The 7:30 p.m. and 9:45 p.m. MDR AKTUELL broadcasts have been extended: the 7:30 p.m. broadcast is 45 minutes long; the 9:45 p.m. broadcast is 60 minutes long.
MDR AKTUELL – The news radio
On election night, MDR AKTUELL – The News Radio will report on the state elections in Thuringia and Saxony in a special broadcast from 5:45 p.m. to 11 p.m. The broadcast will be broadcast by all ARD radio information programs between 5:55 p.m. and 10 p.m. and is entitled “ARD Wahl AKTUELL”.
The news radio provides information on forecasts, projections and detailed surveys from the opinion research institute infratest dimap. The state correspondents report live from the state parliaments in Dresden and Erfurt. The live reporting is supplemented by prepared surveys, key words and short portraits, as well as summary reports on the election results and political reactions over the course of the evening.
In cooperation with MDR SACHSEN and MDR THÜRINGEN, current results and events, analyses by Infratest dimap and reactions from politicians are presented.
MDR AKTUELL Web and news app
On election day, you will find regional preliminary reports and election tickers online at mdr.de, and then results articles in the evening. All results from the constituencies are shown in interactive graphics. In addition to the results, there is also a coalition calculator and the graphics tool “Who voted for whom?”.
We also provide information about the elections in our MDR AKTUELL news app. On election night, the live tickers from MDR SACHSEN and MDR THÜRINGEN will be available in the app, as will our election database. On election day, we will report comprehensively in our app stories about the start of the election, voter turnout and events surrounding the election. In the evening, you will find all the results in the app, accompanied by interactive graphics.
