Tickets are in high demand and events are quickly booked up. With the vhs Celle, a visit to the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg is possible by bus. On Monday, December 16, the former professional tennis player Marie Jacquot will conduct the Fourth Philharmonic Concert (course number CE0210). There are still places available. The program includes Leonard Bernstein, Overture to “Candide”; Wynton Marsalis, Concerto for Trumpet (with Selina Ott) and Orchestra in E-flat major and Amy Beach, Symphony in E minor op. 32 “Gaelic”.
On Wednesday, December 18th, the vhs Celle will be going to the Hamburg State Opera for the ballet performance “Slow burn” (course no. CE0203) with two of the most outstanding choreographers of our time and the ballet ensemble of the Hamburg State Opera.
William Forsythe is one of the most important dance artists of our time – his “The Barre Project” with musical compositions by James Blake will be shown. The background: During the pandemic, daily training at the ballet barre was the only way for many dancers around the world to keep their bodies fit.
Choreographer Aszure Barton has set out to bring more beauty into the world – which doesn't mean that she shies away from the serious issues in life. She feels at home in the neoclassical ballet language as well as in contemporary styles. In 2024, she interpreted the Pandora myth at the San Francisco Ballet. A world premiere is being shown here!
The complete program of the vhs cultural trips is available at www.vhs-celle.de, where gift vouchers can also be booked. Registrations with the respective course number are also possible by phone (05141) 92 98 0 or directly at the vhs Celle, Trift 20.
