Tesco increases price of popular menu offer

Tesco has announced that it will be increasing the prices of its popular lunch menu.

The price of the offer, which includes a sandwich, pasta or salad, a snack and a drink, is currently £3.40 for customers with a Tesco Clubcard.

For customers who are not members of the loyalty program, the fee is currently £3.90.

However, the supermarket announced that it would increase these prices from Thursday, August 22nd. This is the second increase in the last two years.

The standard menu costs £3.60 for Clubcard members and £4 for those without a Clubcard.

Tesco said it had recently made a number of quality improvements to its menu offering, including the development of seven new salads.

The food giant said it will not change the price of its premium meal deal, which costs £5 with a Clubcard and £5.50 without.

A Tesco spokesperson said: “Clubcard members pay just £3.60 for a main course, snack and drink, so our menu continues to be great value and the ideal way to grab lunch on the go.”

“With millions of possible combinations in our stores, our recent ingredient improvements and more than 20 new main dishes launched this summer, the Tesco menu range has something to suit every taste.”

This came a week after data showed that food inflation rose last month, the first increase since March 2023.

Supermarket prices were 1.8 percent higher in the month to August 4 than a year ago, a slight increase from 1.6 percent in July, Kantar analysts said.
