MISSOURI CITY, Texas – One employee is dead and another is in custody after a shooting Monday night at a U.S. Postal Service facility in Missouri City, officials say.
The Missouri City Police Department and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service responded to reports of an active shooter at the processing plant along U.S. 90 East around 10 p.m

The investigation was still preliminary, but USPIS confirmed that there was an active shooter incident that resulted in the death of one employee. They did not disclose the identity of this person.
USPIS also says another employee was taken into custody. The identity of this person was also not revealed.
The facility was evacuated and officials said employees would be held accountable. No other injuries were reported. Authorities say there is no danger to the public.
There is currently limited information about how the shooting unfolded. The investigation is ongoing.
